3 Days & 2 Nights, 2 Days and 1 Night. Jelebu Forest, Negeri Sembilan. 72km from Kuala Lumpur, 1h 30mins.
The adventure begins from Kuala Lumpur and will take us through a light off-road track, over looking untouched hill sites.
The campsite is on a hill overlooking valleys and mountains in the background. Imagine waking up with clouds at your same level or below. Accommodation are in tents. Toilets with flow thru septic system are available. Bathing or showering stalls are made ready. Take home Sleeping bags and halal food are provided. Bring along some warm clothing, as it gets chilly at night.
The highlight – “Lata Kijang Waterfall” (some call it Kijang Jatoh) which is approximately 350 feet high, it is the tallest single drop fall in Malaysia. If you are on a 3 day program, the river canyon (Jeram Berungut) is a rare sight, like a take from “Lord of The Rings”. It is a MUST see.
The Majestic Lata Kijang, named after the Malaysian mountain goat. Theres a small pool at the bottom where the natives go to catch fish with bare hands – a pool nice enough for a afternoon dip.
The Berungut Canyon, walls on both sides rising 100ft up with clear water river. Perfect abseiling point or just swim and picnic by the banks.
The Temuan native tribe village – our host. Many thousand years ago, a lot of Temuan people died because they had committed “Celau” (the sins that angered god and their ancestors). Their god has sent a “Celau” punishment in a form of a Great Flood which had drowned all the Temuan sinners that day. Only two of the Temuans, named Mamak and Inak Bungsuk survived that day by climbing at Eagwood tree at Gunung Raja (Royal Mountain) located at the border of Selangor and Pahang state – where we are headed to 🙂
Abseiling activity at the canyon, organised by our experienced and trained staff. The vertical drop is 100 + feet, for those that wish not to abseil, there is a trek by the side.
Our accommodation. Walk in tent with 2 safari beds (twin share), proper toilets are available.
